Undertale

 

My first favorite game is undertale. Undertale is an RPG game where you fight or spare monsters. This game has a great story because your actions can affect everything in the game. It's a game where you either kill every monster or make friends with them and set them free. This game also has a bit of fourth wall breaking. There are a ton of endings depending on what you do. There are 3 main endings and these are called:

Neutral Route

The neutral route is what the players mostly get on their first try because they are new to the game. New players either spare and kill at the same time. However, some YouTubers who just started playing undertale got a good ending because their fans gives them good advice. In order to get a neutral route you have to kill at least just one monster and spare one monster. The neutral route has different outcomes depending on who you kill and how many monsters you have killed. In the neutral route, monsters are still trapped in the underground.

Pacifist Route

Next is the pacifist route where you have to spare every single monster in the underground. If you ever kill one monster then you wouldn't be able to get the pacifist route, the ending that you will get instead is the neutral route. The pacifist route is where you free all the monster trap in the underground and the monsters will live freely on the surface with the rest of the humans.

Genocide Route

Lastly, we have the genocide route where you kill every single monster that you encounter. Now new players wouldn't be able to get this ending first because to get the genocide route you have to go back and forth and wait for the monster to appear and fight you. If you miss a single kill or spared one of the monsters you won't be able to get the genocide route. The genocide route is one of the hardest because you have to wait a long time for monsters to appear and the boss battles are much harder.

A brief explanation of how monsters were trapped underground: Long ago there were 2 races living on the surface and they are called humans and monsters. One day war broke out between the 2 races and the humans won because of their powerful souls. Since the human won they use their powerful soul to trap the monsters underground and created a barrier that the monsters couldn't break. In order for the monster to break the barrier they need one human soul and one monster soul. Monsters were nice back then but something happened to them that made the king mad. Because of this, he made a rule that every human that fell into the underground would be killed and their soul would be taken away from them.
